    Like any other piece of clothing, an il-fitting tie can ruin even the most expensive suit. A tie that fits well should settle at or near the center of your belt buckle. Ties that are too short can make an adult look like a child, and longer ties that dangle too far down are sloppy looking. Getting your tie to the right length takes some practice, but if you find that you are consistently having problems getting your tie to reach the right sport on your body or if the skinny end of the tie doesn't easily fit into the loop on the back of your tie, you may need to purchase a longer ties instead of the standard length ties you have been buying.
